Contact Libby Knapik ((203) 365-4816) and Barbara Hampton (203-365-4842), the lead librarians for the PTRC (e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org), to schedule a consultation and training in the specialized search tools available through the PTRC. There is a link to our online scheduling tool for consultations on the "PTRC Basics" page of our "Patents and Trademarks" LibGuide. You can also review information about patents and trademarks there.
A dedicated computer terminal is available in the PTRC booth, as well as printed guides, online tutorials, and other materials. To use the PTRC dedicated terminal, you can use the "Schedule PTRC Search Session" link at the bottom of the "Advanced Searching" page in the LibGuide, or speak to one of the PTRC librarians. These search sessions can immediately follow your research and training consultation with the PTRC librarian, if your schedule permits sufficient time on the same day.
Recognizing that intellectual property research is a complex endeavor with important legal and financial implications, our services are designed to support the individual or corporate/legal researcher's efforts to conduct self-directed and preliminary research.
Library staff cannot offer legal advice, conduct searches, assist in writing applications, guarantee completeness of searches, or advise on ideas. All final research, regarding intellectual property determinations, should be done in consultation with proper intellectual property legal professionals.
