The annual report of the National Center for Education Statistics (U.S. Dept. of Education), The Condition of education. can be found in our library's electronic reference collection for the years 1980 to present. That department also publishes Education statistics quarterly [electronic resource]. which is available online through our subscription databases and archived at the U.S. Dept. of Education website http://nces.ed.gov/programs/quarterly/ , as well as the annual Digest of Education Statistics, available online at http://nces.ed.gov/programs/digest/ and in print in the Cambridge and Griswold reference libraries [CAMBRIDGE LB2846 .D48]. Student proficiency gains are reported by the National Assessment of Educational Progress.
