Who is my subject librarian, and how can they help me with research?

Each major and program at SHU has a dedicated librarian who specializes in your subject. You can find your subject expert on our Ask a Librarian page, and reach out to them via email or by making an appointment whenever you need support.

Whether you are just starting to narrow down a research topic, searching for peer-reviewed articles, or looking for resources to manage your bibliography, your librarians are here to support you. Your subject librarian can help with:

  • Search strategies: Brainstorming keywords, narrowing down a topic, and navigating library databases
  • Finding sources: Searching for full-text articles, books, and statistics
  • Citation tools & resources: Guiding you to reliable information about different styles, helping you set up citation managers like Zotero
