What citation management tools does the library support, and how do I get started?

A citation manager is a tool that helps you organize and store your sources in one place. It also connects with your word processor (like Microsoft Word or Google Docs) to automatically generate in-text citations and reference lists as you write.

Zotero:

The SHU Library officially supports Zotero as our chosen citation manager. Zotero is free and easy to use, saving article details, full-text PDFs, and web pages directly to your library with the use of their browser extension, Zotero Connector. You can use the full version of Zotero through their desktop software or on the web, and it connects to your word processor of choice (like Microsoft Word or Google Docs).

ZoteroBib:

Looking for a citation generator with no setup and no account required? ZoteroBib is a lighter-weight online version of Zotero that might be the right fit for you.

Other Tools:

While we recommend and support Zotero, there are other reputable free citation managers available, such as Mendeley or EndNote Basic.
