Yes, you can find many dissertations and theses through SHU Library resources, though not every title will be available in full text. Availability varies, especially for older dissertations or theses that may only be held by the original university. 

Start with these resources: 

• Dissertations & Theses A&I – Search citations and abstracts for dissertations and theses from many universities. 

• Subject databases – Some databases, such as ERIC, CINAHL, EconLit, Education Research Complete, Historical Abstracts, LISTA, and Social Work Abstracts, may include dissertations or theses related to your topic. 

• Google Scholar – Search by title, author, or keywords to locate dissertations and theses that may be available online. 

For more recent dissertations and theses, visit the author’s university institutional repository or digital collections. Many universities now make graduate research available online through their own repositories. 

Full text is not always available through SHU Library databases or Interlibrary Loan. Some dissertations and theses are only available through the university where they were completed, through ProQuest purchase options, or in a university archive. 

Sacred Heart University graduate dissertations and theses may be available through the SHU Library Archives for in-library use. 

If you need help locating a dissertation or thesis, ask a librarian. It is helpful to have as much information as possible, such as the author’s name, title, year, department, and university.
