The Sacred Heart University wireless computer network is being upgraded and a new university website launched shortly. The information I received from IT said that the process would begin "the week of July 2", which may have included today.
If you password is more than 6 months old, it may have expired in the system. You may wish to try resetting your password. There is a link for this from the "MySHU" pages (upper right corner of main university pages). To do that, you will need the last 7 digits of your Sacred Heart ID number (on your SHU card).
To access the library's subscription databases, you can try either of these methods a few times later in the day. Since the library isn't open on Sundays during the summer, you'll need to wait until after 9 am on Monday to speak to a librarian in person or via telephone (203-371-7726) if problems persist.
In the interim, you may find some helpful articles and abstracts in the Connecticut Digital Library (www.iconn.org). There are several databases available on that system that may help you get started. I've attached a PowerPoint to show you how to access this tool.
Google Scholar (http://scholar.google.com) is a great source, too, and sometimes provides links to full-text, though not always.
Save any promising citations or abstracts, and our librarians can help you get to the full-text version.
